This is our first and favorite: a 12-day culture
and history tour of Northern Spain and Southern France
that started in 1988. Two countries,
a mythical heritage, a peculiar language, an undeniable
talent for gastronomy. All add up to being an experience
of a lifetime.
Remote, yet worldly, Euskadi (the Basque homeland)
is a land of contrasts. It straddles two countries,
yet it is neither French nor Spanish. Red roofs top
whitewashed timber homes. Green mountains rise out of
blue seas. Wool berets are matched with canvas espadrilles.
Traditional folk celebrations and the innovative Guggenheim
Museum Bilbao. Tapas/pinxtos and Europe’s
finest dining. Age-old crafts and the most modern
arts.
